In January 2017, I published the very literally named “Kentucky Wildcats Newsletter #1” via Mailchimp to probably 10 people, 8 of whom were likely my family. 6.5 years later, I have reached the end of my newsletter-writing journey. This fall I will be starting law school part-time, and that cobined with a day job and family means I won’t have time to devote to basketball writing anymore.
I want to thank everyone who’s subscribed or read one of my articles over the years. Some of you shared your feedback, most of you were silent about it, but all of you inspired me in one way or another to keep going. It was pretty intimidating to try to start writing something and ask strangers to sign up for more of it, especially for someone with no formal writing training or experience. I love basketball, I love analyzing things, and I really appreciate that a pretty remarkable number of people were willing to indulge me.
I also want to especially thank some of the folks who have personally reached out and shared kind words or given me a platform. Matthew Laurance and ESPN 1300 Lexington, The Tom Leach Show, Kyle Tucker, Jonathan Lintner, Terry Brown & Vinny Hardy, Conner Caldwell & Dowell Harmon, Larry Vaught….thanks for your time, energy, and inspiration.
If anyone wants to read any of my older stuff, for some reason Substack didn’t migrate all my older posts when I consolidated everything last year…but the full archive back to 2017 is here.
What a bummer! I’ll definitely miss your posts and balanced takes on the Cats. Best of luck with law school. BTW will there be refunds provided for those who paid for an annual subscription?
