Let's Learn About: Kamari Lands
Is the most promising of this year's newcomers a keeper?
Louisville needs to figure out which players with remaining eligiblity could fill a role on a much improved version of the Cardinals before embarking on a program-saving shopping trip in the transfer portal. Just because there are bodies who fill a position shouldn’t be an impediment to bringing in better talent, but evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the current roster is job #1.
It goes without saying that multiple ballhandling guards are needed, and I wrote about that recently. Between Mike James, JJ Traynor, and Jae’lyn Withers it seems like Louisville has some playable guys for the 3 and 4 positions; I believe James is not enough of a ballhandler to play the 2 for a team with any real ambitions. Louisville also has 2 forwards in their incoming recruiting class in Kaleb Glenn and Curtis Williams. It remains to be seen how they can contribute, but they clearly will at least be on the roster next season.
What does that mean for Kamari Lands? He was expected to be a standout this season, but the former #59 recruit has had his share of struggles. Has he shown anything that indicates he could be a part of something better? Does he bring anything unique to the table? Premium subscribers can get the full lowdown in the article below.
